Question: In patients with early or mild stage Alzheimer’s dementia how effective is memantine when compared to standard care in slowing the progression of dementia and/or delaying admittance to institutionalised care.


The limited evidence currently available does not support the routine use of memantine to delay disease progression in patients with early or mild stage Alzheimer's dementia.
