Question: In adults with sexually offending/inappropriate or physically aggressive behaviour, how effective is cyproterone acetate compared with any other intervention in reducing sexually offending/inappropriate behaviour?

Answer:

There is insufficient evidence available to make clinical recommendations on the use of cyproterone acetate in adults with sexually offending/inappropriate behaviour. Due to a lack of evidence, the authors of one systematic review stated that anti-libidinal drug treatments should be used with caution. They also stated that it would be worth evaluating this treatment in a well-conducted long-term randomised controlled trial.
