Question: In adults who have experienced psychotic episodes in the post-ictal phase of their temporal lobe epilepsy, how effective is anti-psychotic medication in comparison to treatment with no anti-psychotic medication in the prevention of recurrence of psychosis?

No high quality research evidence was found with regards to this area. Consistent with this, one Cochrane Review was identified that broadly considered psychosis and epilepsy. The review found no high quality evidence supporting the use of anti-psychotic medication for any ictal state.
